The Intermediate Lake levels mandated by circuit court order are 7.15 feet in summer and 6.54 feet in winter.  In 2014 the level reached as high as 8.9 feet, causing flooding for some residents.  For details on meeting the mandated levels, and the difficulties when nature doesn't cooperate, go to the Drain Commissioner's website.

Volunteers from Northern Michigan conservation and lake associations have installed fish shelters in Antrim County lakes.  Click on the thumbnail map at the right to display the Google map with locations of the shelters that have been placed in Intermediate Lake. Latitudes and longitudes are given for input to GPS receivers.

The USGS has an interesting FAQ page on loons.
